Here is what you can expect from me today.
Each morning I am LIVE from 9am to 11am teaching and trading options in my Market Navigator service. I only trade ONE ticker symbol and that is SPY and I trade the options on it.
It’s a simple strategy really, nothing fancy like spreads or condors or butterflies, just basic calls and puts. Calls if I think markets will go higher and puts if I think markets will go lower.
Remember, I teach that every morning to traders just like you.
Yesterday I traded SPY calls because I thought markets would go higher off tariff news. My thesis was correct and I picked up about 12% worth of gains in a short period of time.
*Note: Trading is hard, results not guaranteed and should not be expected to be replicated typically.
Today I am watching for KEY CPI data at 8:30am EST as well as a few other key data pieces and big stock movers for this morning as listed below.
Remember, if you want to watch me teach LIVE, then join me in the Market Masters room no later than 9am EST every day Monday through Friday.
Tuesday’s schedule:
9 - 9:20am ET Premarket scans w/Jeff Williams
3 - 4pm ET Penny stock “Power Hour” w/Jeff Williams
Key Market Drivers
U.S.-China Trade Agreement: On Monday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged by 1,160 points (2.8%), the S&P 500 gained 3.3%, and the Nasdaq climbed 4.4% after the U.S. and China agreed to significantly reduce tariffs for 90 days.
Inflation Data Anticipation: Investors are now awaiting the April Consumer Price Index (CPI) report, expected to show a 0.3% monthly rise and a steady annual rate of 2.4%. Higher-than-expected inflation could dampen hopes for Federal Reserve rate cuts later this year. Reuters
Notable Stock Movements
Coinbase (COIN): Shares surged nearly 10% after S&P Dow Jones Indices announced its addition to the S&P 500, replacing Discover Financial Services.
Boeing (BA): Stock rose modestly following news that China lifted its ban on airline deliveries of Boeing aircraft.
Tesla (TSLA): Shares declined by 1.1% amid concerns over a proposed bill to eliminate EV tax credits by 2025, despite recently regaining a market cap above $1 trillion.
Hertz (HTZ): Stock dropped approximately 7% due to a larger-than-expected quarterly loss and concerns about weakening business and international travel demand.
I am sure there will be other hot moving stocks and options this morning so join me LIVE in just a little while for more trading fun and education!
