A lot of traders think you have to be the first one into a trade to catch a big move.

This morning, the headlines were loud. The Energy Secretary announced the U.S. isn't ready to escort tankers through the Strait of Hormuz until the end of the month.

Oil spiked immediately on the news. Plus, CPI wasn't good yesterday. Flat year over year means no rate cuts and fearful markets right now.

I knew this was going to put massive pressure on the SPY, but I didn't jump the gun.

I waited for the chart to agree with the news. I had my eye firmly on the $670 support level on the SPY. Once the market opened and that $670 level cracked, the technicals finally aligned with the fundamentals.

That was the exact moment I pulled the trigger. I grabbed the SPY $671 puts at an entry of $2.66 and sent the trade alert to my Market Navigator members.

Because we waited for that key support to break, the momentum was entirely on our side.

Within 60 minutes, those puts ripped to a high of $4.27. What started as a goal for a quick gain turned into a potential 60.5% move in just one hour.
