Oil up, SPY down - over 100% in a few hours

There is a golden rule in trading: when the market gives you a clear pattern, you don't fight it. You just keep trading it until the story changes.

The story right now hasn't changed. 

The macro environment is dictating the price action, and the relationship is as clear as day: oil prices go up, the SPY goes down. 

The tension in the energy sector is putting a massive weight on the broader market, and until that pressure is released, the downside is where the opportunity lives.

That was my entire reasoning behind today's Market Navigator trade. I was looking at SPY puts, but the key wasn't just the initial entry - it was how we managed the position.

As the setup developed, I sent an alert to the room that I was adding to my position, bringing my new average to exactly $2.00. My goal was simple: wait for the SPY to drop to the $650 level as the oil pressure mounted.

It didn't take long for the thesis to play out. From that $2.00 average, we watched those puts run all the way to $4.12. That is over a 100% potential move in just a few hours.
